Venezuela Seizes McDonald’s Cargo Ship; Hamburglar Detained

Reading Time: < 1 minutes

CARACAS — In a diplomatic escalation no one saw coming — and analysts strongly suspect no one fully understands — Venezuelan authorities announced Tuesday they have seized a McDonald’s cargo vessel entering their waters, claiming it was part of a “U.S.-backed fast-food infiltration plot.”

The ship, S.S. McBIGMAC, was reportedly carrying frozen fries, replacement McFlurry machines, and several crates labeled “Do Not Open: Special Sauce – Classified.” Venezuelan officials quickly declared the shipment a national security threat.

As part of the operation, authorities also apprehended a man identified only as “The Hamburglar.”
State media described him as “a suspicious foreign operative wearing a black mask and striped prison uniform, likely attempting to destabilize the nation’s hamburger economy.”

Analysts believe the move follows former President Donald Trump’s seizure of Venezuelan oil tankers, with officials opting for a response involving fewer diplomats and more fries.

While the U.S. State Department demanded the immediate release of the cargo and “any red-nosed clown personnel involved,” Venezuelan officials stood firm, stating that the seized goods will remain in custody “until the imperial aggression of American fast food ceases.”

Ronald McDonald issued a brief statement calling for de-escalation, adding that his organization “has never, and will never, weaponize Happy Meals.”

Meanwhile, the Hamburglar is reportedly being interrogated, though sources say progress is slow as he responds to every question by whispering “robble robble.”

McDonald’s corporate headquarters has not clarified whether it considers him an employee, a contractor, or merely “a branding complication.”
