Actor Christ Pratt to Portray 80s Singer Christopher Cross

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Friday Harbor, WA – Actor and local god Chris Pratt is preparing to play 1980s singer-songwriter and sex symbol Christopher Cross in an upcoming movie biopic on the musician. “This movie is going to be better than some silly movie about Freddie Mercury or Elton John. Nobody remembers them,” said Pratt in an interview with the Sasquatch Sun. “But Christopher Cross? Oh yeah, baby.”

Christopher Cross won multiple Grammy awards in the early 80s for his hits “Ride Like the Wind” and “Sailing”. Cross is always at the top of the soft rock charts, even today, which reflects Pratt’s personal ranking. “Soft rock, or yacht rock as I like to call it, is something I always listen to, especially when I get ready to do an action scene,” said Pratt. “It pumps me up. Gets the juices flowing, you know?”

After his immediate hits and stardom, Cross essentially disappeared from the music scene. “Yeah. MTV pretty much killed his career. Some people got him mixed up with the 90s hiphop guys Kris Kross, which is understandable. They thought it was his comeback. But they were wrong. We’ll be showing that in the movie. It’s devastating to watch. Very emotional. I’ll win an Oscar just because of that scene alone.”

Pratt has been meeting with Cross at his San Juan Island estate to get to know him better. “I’m learning his mannerisms and other weird-o things about him,” said Pratt. “For example, he likes to drink Kirkland brand soda water with four ice cubes, in his left hand. Everyone thought he liked to drink La Croix with seven and a half ice cubes, in his right hand . We’ll be setting that straight in this epic movie.”

They’ve also become good friends. “He’ll be making a cameo appearance in my next Jurassic Galaxy movie,” said Pratt. “It’s set in Austin, where he lives, and a crazy T-Rex is on the loose again. At one point, it breaks into his house and eats him while he’s sitting on the toilet playing ‘Sailing’ with his guitar. That’s never been done in a Jurassic movie before and he’s very excited,” said Pratt. “I love him like a brother, son, father and a guy friend.”

The movie is scheduled to be released next year on IMAX 3-D only. “This is going to be way bigger than all the Avengers and Star Wars movies combined. You have to see this in 3-D on the big screen in digital surround sound. Trust me on this one, folks,” said Pratt.
